Black Love that Should be Your #RelationshipGoals

It seems as if 2015 was the year of #RelationshipGoals, and they don’t seem to be going anywhere. Regardless, we all have #RelationshipGoals that we want to achieve when it comes to being with someone. These goals that we set or envision could stem from inspiration from our parents, relationships we experienced growing up, or from celebrities and TV couples. It’s always good to have a list or a set of characteristics that you want in another person so you won’t settle and, ideally, when you both do finally link up, you’ll be a good fit.

Here are a few couples who should be at the top of your #RelationshipGoals list!

Stephen & Ayesha Curry
The MVP of relationships (at least in my opinion), and just a gorgeous looking couple, in general. Stephen is the reigning MVP of the NBA and just an all-around relatable guy. Despite the fame and fortune, he’s managed to stay humble and raise his adorable (and social media famous) children. Ayesha, on the other hand is an accomplished food blogger and social media maven who holds it down for her man. Their constant support and love for each other and their family makes them so lovable.

DeVon Franklin & Meagan Good
The modern day fairytale, Meagan was a true lady in waiting when she met DeVon. Their relationship was truly destined to be. A low-key couple that delights in each other and the Lord. This couple even wrote a book on relationship, which came out earlier this month, so you know its real. The Wait, speaks to their relationship, and gives you tips on how to conduct yours.

Dwayne Wade & Gabrielle Union
If “Love and Basketball” manifested itself in real life, Dwayne would be Quincy and Gabrielle would be Monica. A relationship filled with playful pictures and honest laughs. Gabby and Dwayne are best friends, point, blank, period. And that is a major key to relationship success. They have no problems keeping it real and don’t always look like a picture perfect Instagram couple. This raw relationship makes for a genuine pairing.

Barack & Michelle Obama
The first couple, they’re just goals period. These two are definitions of a boss relationship, forget Jay and Bey, they got nothing on Barack and Michelle. They’re running our country (Yes, Michelle is running the country too) while keeping up with the latest trends, raising two teenage daughters and being so ambitious. Individually or apart, the first couple is slaying in all ways possible.

Omarion & Apryl Jones
Talk about love and hip-hop, Omarion and Apryl exhibit the realness of that title. With a toddler and baby on the way, this couple still finds time for each other and isn’t afraid to show the world that they care about each other. Through the good and the bad, they ride for each other. Omarion and Apryl give a good name to love in the hip hop world, all while looking flawless.

Bonus: Dwayne Wayne & Whitley Gilbert
The OG of #RelationshipGoals. If you don’t know about Dwayne and Whitley, I suggest you stop what you’re doing and binge watch A Different World on Netflix. I promise it will be worth your time.

#BlackLove is such a beautiful thing, so don’t give up or lose hope on your #RelationshipGoals. And don’t ever settle, you deserve the king to your queen, or the queen to your king.
